I am Toby Flippin, your new Head Golf Professional.  Many of you will remember me from my time as a kid at SSCC learning this game we love.  I was blessed with amazing parents Tony & Beckey, my younger brother, Josh, isn't so bad either.  Everyone at the Country Club became a second family to me.  Growing up here I learned many life lessons and built friendships that I have carried with me throughout my entire life.  Sulphur Springs Country Club has always been a second home to me.  When the opportunity to return home as the Pro presented itself I couldn't get here fast enough.
Golf has always been a big part of my life.  My fondest memories have taken place at SSCC, from my Dad taking me golfing after school to Kirk Walker telling me on the range that I finally get to play with his group in "The Big Game".  In fact, my first job was picking the range when I was 13 years old.  The best times were spent here with my Wildcat Golf Teammates.  I graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1999.  While in high school I was a four year varsity member.  We won two District Championships in '98 & '99.  Individually I captured Medalist Honors in '98 and finished 2nd in '99 (to a fellow Wildcat).  I was 1st Team All-District '97-'99, 2nd Team All-District '96.  I was a 3 time Sulphur Springs High School Golf MVP from '97-'99.  Being a part of the Wildcat Golf Team is something I'm very proud of, and I will do all I can for our Junior Golfers to continue the winning tradition of Sulphur Springs Golf.
Following college I began working in the golf industry at Eagle's Bluff Country Club in Bullard, Tx.  I spent six years at the Bluff before moving on to become the Head Pro at The Links at Land's End for a couple of years.  Teaching the game of golf is my favorite part of the job.  I especially love working with our Junior Golfers.  I hope to work with SSISD to develop a strong junior program so that we are able to have all of our kids as prepared as possible when they reach High School.  The earlier we get them started the better they will be.  Our Pro Shop Staff will hold clinics throughout the year for golfers of all skill levels.  I welcome any and all suggestions about our teaching programs and any other ideas about how I can help make your experience at Sulphur Springs Country Club the very best it can be.  I look forward to my time here and meeting all of the new faces.  The transformation happening at SSCC over the past few years is nothing short of amazing.  It has made this one of the best courses in East Texas and I'm proud to be part of the team.  I hope to see everyone out as we gear up for the 2016 Club Championship being held Labor Day Weekend.  When you are here please stop in and say Hi, or tell me to grab my clubs and come play a few holes.
